Cricket Betting at redbus — Top Markets for BPL, IPL and T20 Matches
Cricket is the most popular sport in Bangladesh. At redbus you can participate in match winner, toss, top batsman and over/under run markets across all three formats — T20, ODI and Test. Place your bets from home or on mobile at any time.
Three cricket formats and popular competitions
Each format has its own pace — so the way you bet on each one is different too. Below are the three formats and the competitions that attract the most attention in each.
T20
In this 20-over format, results shift quickly. BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup are the three tournaments most familiar to fans in Bangladesh. The fast pace of play makes live betting particularly engaging here.
BPL · IPL · T20 World CupODI
This 50-over format tests both strategy and patience. The ICC Cricket World Cup and bilateral series are played in the ODI format. Over/under run markets are quite popular at the mid-match stage.
ICC World Cup · Bilateral SeriesTest
Five-day Test cricket is a somewhat different experience for bettors. With the possibility of a draw, there are three outcomes: Team A wins, Team B wins, or a draw. Series winner markets are also available in Test cricket.
ICC Test Championship · Bilateral SeriesBangladesh Tigers matches — especially in BPL and international series — draw the highest number of simultaneous bettors on redbus. Markets for all these matches are open on redbus's redbus Bet platform.
5 popular betting markets
Having a basic understanding of each market makes it easier to decide. Here are the most commonly used markets explained.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which team will win the match. Two outcomes in T20 and ODI (Team A or Team B), three in Test (Team A, Team B or Draw). Example: if Team B has higher odds, it means the market considers Team B comparatively less likely to win.
EasiestToss Winner
Pick who will win the toss before the match starts. This is unrelated to the match result — it is purely about the toss. Toss markets often sit at nearly equal odds because the probability is fifty-fifty.
Quick resultTop Batsman
Pick which batsman will score the most runs in an innings or across the whole match. The more batsmen in a team, the more divided the probability — so top players have lower odds and lesser-known ones have higher odds.
Individual performanceTotal Runs — Over/Under
The market sets a specific run line, such as 160. You choose whether the total runs will be more than 160 (over) or less (under). Pitch conditions and weather play a major role in this market.
Team performanceMulti Bet
A multi bet is formed by combining several bets together. If all selections are correct, the odds multiply to give a much larger return. However, if even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost. See the FAQ below for more details.
Higher return · Higher riskInnings-based markets
You can bet on smaller markets such as how many wickets will fall in the first innings or how many runs will be scored in the powerplay. These stay open as the match progresses, so they pair well with live betting.
Live-friendlyHow to read odds — three formats
Odds are written in three formats: decimal, fractional and American. redbus generally shows decimal odds, but knowing all three formats will be useful anywhere you bet.
Decimal odds are the simplest — stake multiplied by odds equals total return. Fractional odds show how much profit you make relative to your stake. American odds work a bit differently — a plus sign means profit on a ৳100 bet, a minus sign means how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.
If Team A wins, total return is ৳3,000 (৳2,000 profit + original ৳1,000). If Team A loses, the full ৳1,000 is gone.
If Team B wins, total return is ৳1,250 (৳250 profit). American -400 means you need to stake ৳400 to make ৳100 profit.
The lower the odds number, the more likely the market considers that outcome to be. A favourite team has lower odds, so the return is also lower — but an underdog has higher odds, meaning a win there brings a bigger return. Treat betting as entertainment, not a guaranteed way to make money.
Live betting — odds change the moment a wicket falls
The ability to place bets after a match has started is called in-play or live betting. In cricket this is especially interesting because a single wicket can change the entire situation.
Say Team A gets off to a good start in the powerplay — their odds of winning will shorten. But if two wickets fall in the next over, the odds will lengthen again. There is an opportunity to bet within this movement — however, because odds change quickly, a delay in deciding can mean the market closes.
In live betting you can generally find match winner, next wicket over and over-by-over run markets. The most natural approach is to watch the game, understand the situation, and then place your bet.
Betting on football and other sports
Alongside cricket, you can also bet on football and a few other sports at redbus. The key difference in football is the possibility of a draw — so football always has three outcomes (Team A wins, Team B wins, or Draw). In cricket's T20 or ODI formats there is no draw, so there are only two outcomes.
In football, handicap markets and number of goals (over/under 2.5 goals) are very popular. What over/under runs is in cricket, over/under goals is in football. Multi bets are available in both sports.
Key difference: in cricket there are many natural pauses (overs, innings breaks) that give you time to decide during live betting. In football the game does not stop, so odds change much faster.
Betting is entertainment — only bet what you can afford to lose. To learn more about responsible betting, read the Responsible Gaming page.
Some practical tips for cricket betting
Whether you are new or experienced, a few simple habits can make the betting experience better.
Start with one market
Focus on the match winner market first. Betting on multiple markets at once makes the maths more complex and splits your attention.
Stick to a budget
Set aside a fixed amount for betting and do not go beyond it. If you lose, do not rush to place more bets to try to get it back.
Keep pitch and weather in mind
In cricket, pitch type and weather largely determine the pace of play. Spinners tend to have the advantage on dry pitches and pacers on wet pitches.
Compare odds
Before placing a bet on a market, look at the odds carefully. Very low odds mean lower risk but also a lower return — betting is for entertainment, not a guarantee of profit.
Keep multi bets small
Even though the odds are bigger in a multi bet, one wrong selection means the entire bet is lost. The more selections you add beyond three, the lower the chance of getting them all right.
Take breaks
Continuous betting leads to fatigue and weaker decisions. Taking a break during an innings interval or the following day helps keep your mind clear.
